Central Command Area Of Responsibility (Feb. 12, 2003) -- A High
Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) roles off of a Landing
Craft Utility (LCU) from USS Tarawa Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and
will be used for future operations. The (ARG) uses (LCU's) and other
conventional landing craft and helicopters to move Marine assault
forces ashore. Tarawa is currently forward deployed in support of
