Central Command Area of Responsibility (Feb. 12, 2003) -- A Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) drives off of a Landing Craft Air Cushioned (LCAC) assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Tarawa (LHA 1). Tarawa Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) uses LCAC and other conventional landing craft to move Marine assault forces ashore.  Tarawa Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) is deployed in the Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  U.S. Navy photo by PhotographerÕs Mate 1st Class Brien Aho.  (RELEASED)
