On 22 July 2004. Approximately 1200 Iraqi Security Forces and 150 Iraqi National Guard in conjunction with 1-9 Cav, 3rd Bde, 1st Cav conducted a large scale operation aimed at the criminal and terrorist stronghold around Talaa Square and Haifa Street in the Sadamia area of Baghdad, Iraq which netted about 250 personnel during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
