Central Command Area of Responsibility (Aug. 14, 2003) -- The nuclear
powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) approaches USS Bridge
(AOE-10), to begin a vertical replenishment (VERTREP). Bridge will
decommission during the next several weeks and become a part of the
Military Sealift Command as the USNS Bridge. Nimitz Strike Group
and Carrier Air Wing Eleven (CVW-11) are deployed in support of
Operation Iraqi Freedom, the multi-national coalition effort to
liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq's weapons of mass
destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein. U.S. Navy
