SOUTH CHINA SEA (Oct. 19, 2008) -- The Military Sealift Command dry cargo ship USNS Richard E. Byrd (T-AKE-4) makes its approach alongside the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) for an underway replenishment.
