ANCHORAGE, Alaska (May 9, 2007) -- Coast Guard Cutter Mustang escorts Military Sealift Command (MSC) fleet replenishment oiler Henry J. Kaiser (T-AO 187) into the port of Seward in south central Alaska. The vessels are part of a two-week joint State of Alaska and U.S. Northern Command sponsored homeland defense/defense support of civil authorities exercise called Artic Shield/Northern Edge. The 677-foot vessel Kaiser is part of the 39 ships in the Naval Fleet Auxiliary Force. The cutter Mustang is a 110-foot Island-class patrol vessel homeported in Seward.
