QINGDAO, China (April 20, 2009) -- Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm.
Gary Roughead boards the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer
USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62) while visiting with senior PLA naval leadership
in Qingdao, China. Roughead visited China to participate in the 60th
anniversary of the founding of the PLA Navy and to foster naval and
military relationships between the two nations and explore areas for
