The guided missile destroyer USS Cole is sits atop the deballasted deck of the MV Blue Marlin, Oct. 29.  The ship was put in place atop the Blue Marlin after being towed to the vessel by USNS Catawba, an ocean-going tug.  The Blue Marlin will take the Cole back to the United States around the horn of Africa.  The USS Cole was damaged in an Oct. 12 terrorist attack in the port of Aden, Yemen.  Seventeen Sailors were killed and 39 wounded as a result of the attack.  Marines and Sailors of 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) and Tarawa Amphibious Ready Group participated in Operation Determined Response, designed to recover the Cole.
