Naval Station Norfolk, Va. (May 27, 2004) -- Guided missile destroyer USS Cole (DDG 67) prepares to moor pierside during homecoming celebrations, at the conclusion of their deployment in support of the global war of terrorism (GWOT). Cole completed its first six-month deployment since October 2000 when it was hit by terrorists. Cole was assigned to the Standing Naval Forces Mediterranean (SNFM) conducting operations in support of Operation Active Endeavor.
