Central Command Area of Operation (Mar. 22, 2003) -- The guided missile destroyer USS Milius (DDG 69) launches a Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM) toward Iraq during the initial stages of the Operation Iraqi Freedom. Milius is homeported in San Diego, Calif. Operation Iraqi Freedom is the multinational coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.
