Singapore (June 14, 2006) -- Sailors aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Hopper (DDG 70) lower the American Flag on the ship's fantail as Hopper shifts colors for getting underway. Hopper is departing Changi Naval Base, Singapore, after the completion of the Singapore phase of exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT). CARAT is an annual series of bilateral maritime training exercises between the U.S. and six Southeast Asian nations designed to build relationships and enhance the operational readiness of the participating forces.
