At sea with USS George Washington (CVN 73) Sep. 27, 2002 -- USS Mahan
(DDG 72) steams alongside George Washington while at sea during a
regularly scheduled six-month deployment. George Washington is
participating in Exercise Mediterranean Shark during a scheduled
six-month deployment. Exercise “Mediterranean
Shark” which
is a bilateral training exercise conducted in Morocco by a U.S. Marine
Expeditionary Unit (MEU), Special Operations Capable (SOC), to show the
effectiveness of the Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF). The MAGTF
allows commands to task organized surface and air assets for use in
