Persian Gulf (Feb. 7, 2005) -- Gunner's Mate 3rd Class Robert Jackson, foreground, and Fire Controlman 2nd Class Joshua Stoddard-Herriman clean the turret of the MK-45 5-in./54-cal. lightweight gun while cleaning the gun system on the forecastle aboard the guided missile destroyer USS Mason (DDG 87) after an early-morning test fire. Mason is conducting operations in the Persian Gulf as a part of Destroyer Squadron Two Six (DESRON26) and the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) Carrier Strike Group. The Harry S.
