SOUTH CHINA SEA (June 12, 2009) -- The guided-missile destroyer USS
Chafee (DDG 90) fires its Mark 62 5-inch gun at a target during the
Singapore phase of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT)
2009. Ahead of Chafee is the amphibious dock landing ship USS Harpers
Ferry (LSD 49). CARAT is a series of bilateral exercises held annually
in Southeast Asia to strengthen relationships and enhance the
