PEARL HARBOR (Aug. 24, 2009) -- The guided-missile destroyer USS Chafee (DDG 90) returns to homeport at Naval Station Pearl Harbor after a seven-month deployment as part of the Mid-Pacific Surface Combatant Operational Employment program. The program calls for all Hawaii-based surface combatants to focus on conducting intermediate and advanced training and regular deployments in the western Pacific Ocean.
