SOUDA BAY, Crete, Greece (Oct. 8, 2007) -- Arleigh Burke-class
guided-missile destroyer USS Bainbridge (DDG 96) arrives in Souda
Harbor for a port visit. Bainbridge departed her homeport of Norfolk,
Va., in September and recently relieved USS Normandy (CG 62) as the
flagship of Standing NATO Maritime Group (SNMG) 1. SNMG1 consists of
vessels from various allied nations and has just completed the first
ever circumnavigation of Africa by a NATO maritime group. U.S. Navy
