Newport News, Va. (Nov. 14, 2006) -- Workers from Northrop Grumman Newport News shipyard install a refurbished rudder on USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) in dry dock in Newport News. The rudder project is a major milestone in the aircraft carrier's Refueling Complex Overhaul (RCOH). The RCOH is an extensive yard period that all Nimitz-class aircraft carriers go through near the mid-point of their 50-year life cycle.
