Norfolk, Va. (Feb. 1, 2005) - The fleet ballistic missile submarine USS Georgia (SSBN 729) passes downtown Norfolk, Va., as it heads to Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA. Georgia is the fourth Ohio-class submarine to undergo conversion from a ballistic missile submarine to a guided missile submarine. Guided missile submarines will be able to carry an impressive payload, including up to 154 Tomahawk cruise missiles or 66 Special Operations Forces.
