Naval Station Pascagoula, Miss. (Sept. 30, 2004) -- The guided missile cruiser USS Ticonderoga (CG 47) is towed out of Naval Station Pascagoula immediately following the ship's decommissioning ceremony. USS Ticonderoga was the fifth ship to bear the name Ticonderoga and spent the past eight years homeported at Naval Station Pascagoula. The ship will be towed to the Inactive Ships Maintenance Facility in Philadelphia, Pa., where a final decision on the eventual disposition of the ship will be made.
