Northern Pacific (Jun. 17, 2004) -- The Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser USS Lake Champlain (CG 57) operates as a plane guard for the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) during flight operations near the Canadian coastline. Stennis and embarked Carrier Air Wing Fourteen (CVW-14) are currently at sea participating in a scheduled deployment.
