Gulf of Aden (April 29, 2005) -- Sailors aboard the guided missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60) prepare to receive survivors rescued from the Gulf of Aden after their small vessel capsized 25 miles off the coast of Somalia. Eighty-nine people survived the incident, with 5 pronounced dead on the scene. U.S. Navy guided missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60), coastal patrol ship USS Typhoon (PC 5), coastal patrol ship USS Firebolt (PC 10) and German frigate FGS Karlsruhe (F 212) are assisting in the rescue effort.
