4 ,May 2005  The Ticonderoga class guided missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60) fires a 5 inch 54 caliper MK 45 canon during a pre aimed calibration or (PAC) fire exercise.  USS Normandy is currently conducting Maritime Security Operations (MSO) which set the conditions for security and stability in the maritime environment. MSO complements the counter-terrorism and security efforts of regional nations. MSO deny international terrorists use of the maritime environment as a venue for attack or to transport personnel, weapons, or other material.  U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate First Class Robert R.
