Norfolk, Va. (Sep. 16, 2003) -- The guided missile cruiser USS Monterey (CG 61) departs Naval Station Norfolk to avoid Hurricane Isabel.  More than 40 destroyers, frigates, and amphibious ships left the naval station piers to avoid any potential damage from the high winds and seas generated by the hurricane.  U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 2nd Class Michael Sandberg.  (RELEASED)
