Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (Apr. 22, 2002) -- The guided missile frigate USS Crommelin (FFG 37) returns to her home port after a six-month deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command area of responsibility (AOR). During the deployment, Crommelin's crew detected several vessels transporting narcotics and recovered several tons of cocaine worth an estimated street value of over seventy million dollars.  Crommelin also was involved in three rescues at sea, rescuing 174 Ecuadorian citizens from a leaky vessel at sea, and lending assistance to two fishing vessels.  U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 2nd Class Dennis Cantrell.  (RELEASED)
