Neum, Bosnia and Herzegovina (Sept. 27, 2003) -- The guided missile frigate USS Nicholas (FFG 47) takes a barge alongside for miscellaneous services, as it is anchored in the harbor of Neum, in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Nicholas is the first U.S. Navy ship ever to make a port visit to this city. Navy frigates carry a crew of 17 officers and 198 enlisted and provide anti-air warfare (AAW) and anti-submarine warfare (ASW) missions, supporting expeditionary forces, replenishment groups, and merchant convoys.  U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 1st Class Paul J.
