Souda Bay, Crete, Greece (Aug. 4, 2006) -- The guided missile frigate USS Elrod (FFG 55) arrives in Souda harbor for a brief port visit. Elrod is an Oliver Hazard Perry class frigate and is homeported in Norfolk, Va. Elrod is on a regularly scheduled deployment and currently assigned to the Standing NATO Response Force (NRF) Maritime Group Two (SNMG-2) in support of Operation Active Endeavor.
