Maldonado, right, watches the underway replenishment team pass the
phone and distance line from the guided-missile frigate USS Kauffman
(FFG 59) to the Colombian replenishment ship ARC Buenaventura (BM 162).
Kauffman is on a six-month deployment to the U.S. 4th Fleet area of
responsibility supporting the U.S. Southern Command exercise Southern
Seas 2009, part of the Partnerships of the Americas strategy. U.S.
