Pascagoula, Miss. (Jan. 25, 2005) -- Tugs boats maneuver the amphibious
assault ship USS Saipan (LHA 2) up to the pier at Terminal G of Bayou
Casotte East Harbor in the Port of Pascagoula, Miss. It is the first
Navy assault ship to dock in the Bayou Casotte Harbor. Saipan is on
scheduled two-month deployment to the U.S. Southern Command (NAVSO)
area of responsibility in support of New Horizons, the humanitarian
assistance efforts in Haiti. As part of New Horizons, U.S. forces will
build schoolhouses, drill wells and provide medical attention to the
