Persian Gulf (Feb. 16, 2006) -- The amphibious dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) approaches the Military Sealift Command (MSC) oiler USNS Rappahannock (T-AO 204) and the amphibious assault ship USS Nassau (LHA 4) for a connected replenishment (CONREP). Carter Hall is currently on a regularly scheduled deployment conducting maritime security operations (MSO). MSO sets the conditions for security and stability in the maritime environment as well as complement the counter-terrorism and security efforts of regional nations. MSO also deny international terrorists use of the maritime environment as a venue for attack or to transport personnel, weapons or other material.
