Pacific Ocean (Nov. 18, 2005) -- The amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5) underway in the Pacific Ocean during a Friends and Family Day Cruise off the coast of Southern California. Peleliu and Expeditionary Strike Group Three (ESG-3) returned from a successful ESG Integration Exercise Nov. 18 to their homeport of Naval Station San Diego to pick up the friends and families for a day at sea.
