PEARL HARBOR (June 1, 2007) -- USS Peleliu (LHA 5) departs Naval Station Pearl Harbor, launching Pacific Partnership 2007, a four-month humanitarian-assistance mission to Southeast Asia and Oceania. The deployment brings together host nation medical personnel, partner nation military medical personnel and non-governmental organizations to provide medical, dental, construction and other humanitarian-assistance programs ashore and afloat.
