Mediterranean Sea (September 2, 2006) -- The multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) completes her transit of the Straits of Gibraltar and enters the Mediterranean Sea bound for the coast of Lebanon.  Wasp recently deployed from her homeport of Norfolk, Va., after receiving surge deployment orders to help support humanitarian operations with Joint Task Force Lebanon.
