Norfolk, Va. (Jun. 30, 2003) -- Sailors and Marines man the rails aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) as they prepare for homecoming. The multi-purpose amphibious assault ship deployed with only 72 hours notice, and participated in Operation Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and provided support to the President of the United States during his summits with Arab leaders in Egypt and Jordan.
