Persian Gulf (Feb. 13, 2007) -- Sailor aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4) Combat Information Center relays messages to the ship's Damage Control Central during a general quarters drill. General quarters drills test the ship's combat readiness and train the crew to respond to emergencies. Boxer is the flagship for Boxer Expeditionary Strike Group, currently operating in the Persian Gulf conducting Maritime Security Operations (MSO) in support of U.S. 5th Fleet. MSO help set the conditions for security and stability in the Persian Gulf and protect Iraq's sea-based infrastructure to help provide the Iraqi people the opportunity for self-determination.
