Suez Canal (Feb. 4, 2003) -- The amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) maneuvers its way through the eighteen-hour transit of the Suez Canal accompanied by Amphibious Task Force East (ATF-E). The Suez Canal flows through Egypt connecting the Mediterranean to the Red Sea. ATF-E is on deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).
