At sea aboard USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) Jan. 27, 2003 -- An AV-8B Harrier launches from the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6). The primary function of the AV-8B Harrier is to attack and destroy surface targets, day or night. Bonhomme Richard is part of the seven-ship Amphibious Task Force West (ATF-W), which is deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).
