PACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 12, 2008) -- The amphibious assault ship USS
Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) crosses under the Golden Gate Bridge as she
makes her way to San Francisco's Fleet Week. Fleet Week is a
celebration of the sea services, in which, more than 1,500 Sailors,
Marines and Coast Guardsmen from visiting ships make the city a port of
call. The event is an opportunity to showcase military personnel,
equipment, technology and capabilities while highlighting naval history
