Suez Canal (July 4, 2006) -- The amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) transits through the Suez Canal during a scheduled six month deployment.  The multi-purpose amphibious assault ship is the flag ship for her Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) currently deployed in support of maritime security operations (MSO) and the global war on terror.
