PACIFIC OCEAN (Feb. 11, 2008) -- Chief Boatswain's Mate Alan N. Daniel
directs the recovery of amphibious assault vehicles from Golf Co.,
Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines, (BLT 2/4) of the
31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) in the well deck of USS Juneau
(LPD 10). Juneau and the 31st MEU are participating in the amphibious
integration training exercise EVALEX '08. Juneau is the Navy's only
permanently forward deployed amphibious transport dock ship and part of
the Essex Expeditionary Strike Group forward deployed to Sasebo,
