South China Sea (July 31, 2006) -- Aviation Structural Mechanic 2nd Class Rodolfo Reyes drives the Jet Ski portion of a Ship Deployed Surface Target (SDST) out of the stern gate of amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46). Tortuga and four other ships are currently participating in the at-sea portion of the Malaysia phase of exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT). CARAT is an annual series of bilateral maritime training exercises between the United States and six Southeast Asia nations designed to build relationships and enhance the operational readiness of the participating forces.
