VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (May 16, 2007) -- Sailors aboard the Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) man the rails as the ship pulls into Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek after a six-month deployment. Ashland returned home after acting as an Afloat Staging Base and maintained sustained combat operations in support of the global war on terrorism.
