Yellow Sea (March 30, 2006) -- Amphibious Assault Vehicles (AAV) assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) makes their way to the well deck aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49), during a combined amphibious landing exercise held in Manripo, Republic of South Korea. Commander, Task Force Seven Six (CTF-76) ships, and embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) elements are completing operations supporting Reception, Staging, Onward Movement and Integration (RSIO) and Foal Eagle 2006 to strengthen interoperability between the United States and the Republic of South Korea. CTF-76 is the Navy's only forward deployed amphibious force, headquartered in White Beach, Okinawa, Japan, with an operating detachment in Sasebo, Japan.
