Indian Ocean (Feb. 6, 2006) -- As the U.S. National Ensign flies from the back of a Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB), a Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) team, assigned to the amphibious dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50), departs for a VBSS mission. Carter Hall is currently on a regularly scheduled deployment conducting maritime security operations (MSO). MSO set the conditions for security and stability in the maritime environment as well as complement the counter-terrorism and security efforts of regional nations.
