(May 19, 2006) -- The amphibious dock landing Ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), sits on blocks, while the floating dry-dock begins its slow decent, allowing Pearl Harbor to return to active service, following a scheduled repair cycle. Pearl Harbor supports amphibious operations including beach landings via Air Cushion Landing Craft (LCAC), conventional landing craft and helicopters.
