IWO JIMA, Japan (March 13, 2007) - A landing craft air cushion (LCAC),
assigned to dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49), arrives at
the black-sand beach of Iwo Jima with Mt. Suribachi in the backdrop.
Harpers Ferry is visiting the island to support the 62nd Commemoration
of the Battle of Iwo Jima. In conjunction with the commemoration,
Sailors and Marines had the opportunity to see historical remnants of
the World War II battle and to honor fallen service members of both
