Central Command Area of Responsibility (Jan. 27, 2003) -- United States
Army Vessel (USAV) Theater Support Vessel (TSV-1X) Spearhead arrives a
port within the Central Command Area of Responsibility. The 98
meter-long wave-piercing catamaran has an average speed of 40+ knots
and will be utilized on missions which can take advantage of its speed
and flexibility when transporting troops and cargo. The Spearhead is
forward-deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. U.S. Navy
