Yokosuka, Japan (May 13, 2004) -- Capt. J. Stephen Maynard, Commanding Officer, USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), conducts a promotion ceremony for selected Petty Officers during a frocking ceremony in the Naval Ship Repair Facility dry dock. Blue Ridge is undergoing an extensive dry dock maintenance period. The 7th Fleet command and control ship Blue Ridge is forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan. 7th Fleet command ship duties have been temporarily transferred to USS Coronado (AGF 11), which deployed from its homeport of San Diego, Calif., earlier this year.
