ARABIAN SEA (May 27, 2007) - The Avenger-class mine countermeasure ship USS Scout (MCM 8) observes a simulated mine detonation while participating in a mine countermeasure exercise with the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group and embarked Carrier Air Wing 11 are deployed to 5th Fleet conducting maritime operations and supporting the global war on terrorism.
