At sea aboard USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) Jan. 14, 2003 -- An MV-22 "Osprey" stands ready on the ship's flight deck, as tests resumed on the aircraft this week, the first at sea testing of the MV-22 in two years.  The V-22 "Osprey" is a tilt-rotor vertical/short takeoff and landing (VSTOL), multi-mission aircraft developed to fill multi-Service combat operational requirements supporting Marine amphibious operations.  U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 3rd Class Clarck Desire. (RELEASED)
