Otaru, Japan (July 01, 2006) -- USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) prepares to pull into Otaru, Japan for a port of call following the completion of joint exercise Valiant Shield 2006.  Kitty Hawk last visited the port of Otaru over four years ago. While in port Sailors will have a chance to sightsee, shop, enjoy recreational activities and participate in friendship-building and goodwill-generating activities such as community service projects with their hosts.  Currently under way in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility, Kitty Hawk demonstrates power projection and sea control as the U.S. Navy's only permanently, forward-deployed aircraft carrier, operating U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communications Specialist 3rd Class Jarod Hodge (RELEASED)
